Asha Moon

Handmade pottery, jewellery & crystals

My intention is to help others reconnect with Mother Earth through creating pieces that can be used in daily rituals. A morning cup of coffee from a mug adorned with crystals, a full moon blessing bowl to use in your own ceremony honouring the ancient cycle, or a pretty trinket tray to keep your treasures in.... my aim is to bring a little magic & beauty into our lives
— Shannon Cotterill

Many of us have lost our connection to the land and the rhythmic flow of life, constantly grinding and racing to the finish line, never slowing down to truly notice the world around us. It was my intention to open up a sacred space, Asha Moon Studio, for people to gather and remember why it’s so important to take the time to reconnect – with themselves, the community, with creativity and Spirit.

After running my professional photography business for sixteen years (Bloom Photography) while raising a young family of three and eventually running myself into the ground, I decided that slowing down had to be my priority. Coming back to my art gave me complete creative freedom and the ability to achieve the peace I was craving.

Since I was a little girl, my happiest moments involved creating, but as I grew older, life had other plans. Between a booked-out photography business and motherhood, I didn’t always follow the whispers of Spirit or my higher self and landed in a reality filled with endless stress and fierce anxiety.

Specialising in ceramics & sculpture, and conceptual photography over the last twenty-six years has allowed me to tap back into my inner child, slow down, and weave magic into each day. I am inspired to create beautiful pieces that help people align with the cycles of nature and themselves while reconnecting to their innate wisdom.

Diving deep into my creative processes over the past two decades has helped me recognise that my visions evolve from my connection to the world around me and Spirit.

During the last three years, I have embraced my authentic voice and felt it was time to share all aspects of my abilities and spiritual side – that’s when the ‘Turns Out She’s a Witch’ podcast was born. This provided a supportive space to discuss Paganism and nature-based spirituality.

My art, as well as my passion for writing, has evolved over the last decade and graciously rewarded me with the AIPP State Awards: NSW Portrait Photographer of the Year in 2015 & 2017, the NSW Illustrative Photographer of the Year in 2016 & 2018, and guided me to self-publish my first oracle deck, Of Earth & Ether, in 2020.

My work is deeply anchored in my connection to Mother Earth, the elements, and the unseen forces that guide me. I rely on the grounding power of the seasons and cycles and the divine support of Spirit to aid me in channelling my work, allowing me to alchemise imagination into tangible, functional pieces such as bespoke altars for ritual and crystal embellished mugs to sip your morning brew from. I’m driven by my passion for helping individuals cultivate spiritual practices that bring meaning and depth to their lives, infusing each moment with connection, intentionality, and joy.

There is so much more magic to share and artwork waiting to be born – from all of us!  I’d be honoured to have you on this journey with me.

Much love,

Shannon x
